The guidelines I developed for the New York Times with my team were the first complete set ever created for the company, connecting marketing and editorial standards together into one comprehensive approach.
Prior to this system, marketers and editorial designers alike referred to a loose collection of piecemeal design documents scattered across the newsroom, glued together by institutional knowledge and rules of thumb.
This system served as the foundation for Droga’s historic “The Truth Is Hard” campaign.
